Introducing Kyle: Facilities Assistant

By Lydia Gingerich

Over the next few weeks we will be introducing our 2019 Interns. This group of seven REACH graduates will spend the year deepening their relationship with God, serving at the RIC, and being discipled by the SEND Department. RMM is grateful for their hard work and is excited to see them grow this year.

According to Kyle, the new Facilities Assistant intern, being stretched outside of one’s comfort zone is a good thing. Last year with his REACH team in the Himalayas, Kyle found that working and living with the same people every day caused him to dig past the awkward and difficult parts of a relationship to form stronger bonds.

“My comfort zone is on the quieter side. I don't like speaking in front of people. So that's going to be hard with new people every single week.”In coming home from REACH to Holmes County, Ohio, where he spent his childhood, he found himself deepening all of his friendships. He looks forward to finding even more depth in his relationships with the other interns and with God this year.

As the Facilities Assistant, his responsibilities include mowing the lawn, pushing snow, and helping out with odd jobs around the RIC. Kyle is also excited about the big groups coming to the RIC for REACH and City Challenge, but he also knows that it will continue to stretch him. “My comfort zone is on the quieter side. I don't like speaking in front of people. So that's going to be hard with new people every single week.”

Pray for Kyle and the other interns as they get to know each other and begin working in their roles. Pray that God will use them to impact the many people who come to the RIC in the following year.
